Handsome 12 size Elgin 7 jewel dress watch

Fairly rare Elgin 12 size dress watch in lovely condition, made in 1904.
This is a model 3 grade 254 movement with 7 jewels, of which only 2000 were ever made, so it's fairly rare. The watch is stem wind and stem set, both functions working well, it runs strong in all positions having been serviced earlier this year. It also keeps good time.
The handsome case is a 14k, 25 year gold filled item in lovely condition. Hinged front and rear covers and a hinged internal dust cover. All of the hinges are good and all of the covers operate as intended. Good original single sunk white enamel dial and a good set of blued steel hands. The mineral crystal has quite a few age related surface scratches so can appear a bit cloudy. These scratches could, with a fair amount of time and effort, be polished out or the crystal could be replaced easily. However glass crystals are now obsolete and hard to find with acrylic crystals not to everyone's taste. So for the sake of originality I have left this crystal in place.
Overall a very nice dress watch in good working order.
