17 jewel Hamilton 910 12 size Dress Watch.

Around the turn of the 19th/20th century the full size 18s pocket watch was falling out of favour for being too big and clumsy. The 16s being smaller was becoming the timepiece of choice and then along came the 12 size which some considered more elegant than it's larger cousins.
Here we have a very smart Hamilton grade 910 which was made in 1917. The watch measures 47mm across from the 9 - 3. The nickel split plate movement has 17 jewels, a Swiss lever escapement with double roller and a micro-regulator. The movement is beautifully finished and has screw set gold jewel settings. It is stem wind and stem set.
The watch has recently been serviced so it runs well and keeps very good time.
25 year gold filled case original to the watch and in very good condition. The movement is held within an inner ring which is hinged to the main body of the case which itself has a hinged front cover. Both hinges are good.
The single sunk white enamel dial is in fair condition as it does have a couple of faint hairlines.
Very good blued steel hands and a very good mineral crystal.
Overall a very nice Hamilton dress watch in very good order working as it should.
